This is episode 01 of many to come in the Be A Show Host Tips series. My name is Jody Colvard, Founder of the FMG Network, Women in Podcasting and the New Men in Podcasting.

In this Episode 01, I take you through the basics of recording your first audio episode. Included in the video is a link to another tutorial that takes you through downloading Audacity, a Free Open Source recording/editing program, a good inexpensive starter microphone and much more.

Keep an eye out for Episode 02, being posted soon, with an amazing interview with the vocal master in Hollywood, Mr. Bob Corff. Bob is called upon by the major motion picture producers to help celebrities achieve their perfect voice. LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE

NelsonMandela.jpg
One of the most important things to remember and take to heart when you want to be a show host or anything else in life is:
Let Your Light Shine - You Deserve It!

The famous speech by Nelson Mandela at his Inaugural in 1994 written by Marianne Williamson conveys the message that I would like to share with you, and I hope that you remember these words in everything you do in this world and know how wonderful you are!

Out of every class I teach, I have to spend a large portion of the time helping my students to get out of their own way.

These words are for you:

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so
that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other
people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others."

BOB CORFF: VOICE COACH TO THE STARS

Bob Corff It is my pleasure to share with you an interview with an amazing, warm hearted man that is sought after by major motion picture and television production teams to help coach and bring out the beautiful voices that we hear on the silver screen.

Bob Corff has been in the entertainment world for many years and is no stranger to being on the screen himself. In fact, Corff mastered his voice coaching techniques during a long-lived acting career, he played lead roles in many acclaimed stage productions including Jesus in "Jesus Christ Superstar", Danny Zuko in Broadway's production of "Grease" and was the lead in the Los Angeles production of "Hair". He was in many television series and movies such as:

"McMillan & Wife", "The Bold Ones" and starred in the Roger Corman cult classic film "Gasss".

Bob Corff knows first-hand that what a person says is not as important as how it is said. As top vocal coach to thousands of such big-name stars as Vanessa Redgrave, Jodi Foster, Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Aniston, William H. Macy, Cate Blanchett, as well as business leaders and public speakers, Bob Corff has made a definite impact on their careers and their lives.

Enriching your voice alters the way you feel about yourself and the way people respond to you, Corff says. In an age which emphasizes personal development and competitiveness in the workplace, it surprises Corff how many public figures and business people are not aware of the importance of having an effective voice.

Bob Corff is a prominent and much-sought-after vocal coach and shares with you the tips he shares with his famous clients in acheiving your true voice, the voice that commands respect and will make people take notice of who you are and what you have to share.

BUILDING YOUR AUDIENCE FOR YOUR PODCAST SHOW

A few tips to building your traffic on your talk show:

Be sure to submit your site to as many podcast directories as possible.

Here is a list of many that are out there:
http://www.beashowhost.com/podsites

Also, after you enter your podcast, subscribe to your own show and have your friends and family do the same. Alot of times, your podcast is not indexed into the data base until there is a subscriber (puts you on their radar).

Another way to drive traffic to you is by creating an infomercial for your show. This can be done by creating a powerpoint, filming the presentation with a piece of software called camtasia (you can get a free version at: http://www.camstudio.org) and recording your voice over describing your show. This can be placed throughout the video directories, like YouTube, Yahoo, Revver, etc... Gives your audience a visual and gets their attention.
